Why, Galliano, why??

This is the second case in recent times, of what appears to be “self-sabotage”. The first one was of course Alexander MC Queen.
This one is all the more tragic, because the person in question is alive to regret his actions and to face the bitter reactions of the people he has let down – most of all himself.

Really, was he not aware that when you reach a certain position in life, you have to be very, very, careful? Or did he think because of his position, no one could touch him?

Forget the moral judgments, for, who amongst us can really claim to have a “pure heart” with no prejudices?
But I am unhappy that the Fashion Industry almost seems to want to hang on to this morbid, eccentric, dark and dangerous image. It is almost as if you have to be a prepared to go a little mad, in order to thrive in the Fashion Business.

All I can say is, Thank God, for the likes of Alber Elbaz and Christopher Bailey, who prove that you can be extremely creative and grounded at the same time
(Please don’t let us down Mr. Bailey and Mr. Elbaz).

Suddenly, the stiff old-fashioned propriety and icy control, of people like AnnaWintour or Karl Lagerfeld, seem very much the better alternative.
